FAQs

Q.

Why is having a clear, distilled intention crucial to an individual’s or organization’s success?

A.

Having a clear distilled intention fine-tunes our target to a laser point. This clarity ultimately gives us greater liberty and energy to create and be productive. A clear, intention is one which goes farther than simple "manifestation of a goal". It clarifies the purpose and underlying nature of ‘whatever it is we are creating’ and ‘what we are to be’ in relation to that end result.

Q.

Why is Appreciative Inquiry (AI) the thrust of your enterprise?

A.

As I have adapted its principles in virtually everything I do, I have experienced the positive effects. AI is a change methodology grounded in the constructive: building upon what works and leveraging that understanding and creating the "new" or desired outcome. The results AI supports are achieved with greater energy and commitment and can be more easily sustained.

Q.

What makes your offering different from other organizations?

A.

There are three aspects that clearly set Velin Performance part from our competitors:

1.

Continual pursuit of clarity: We are committed to ensuring our clients are very clear about what it is they are trying to create. One way is by truly understanding why we want what we want and getting to the heart of the experience we wish to cultivate. We must also recognize that most organizational challenges come from a lack of clarity, in some form.

2.

Strength-based facilitation: We start with seeking to understand what is already working well for our clients based on past experiences and leveraging that understanding to help them achieve their desired outcomes. We apply the principles and practices of Appreciative Inquiry to maximize the results in strategic planning, leadership development, performance facilitation and coaching.

3.

Focus on Movement: Many people talk about the importance of performance.  The question that is often asked: “To what or whom are we accountable for this performance?” When clarity of intention emerges then performance truly takes off. If there is no movement there is a reason: at some level crystal clarity is not present.
